LONGFORD SOCIAL 2024/2025 season - change of games night, it is now on Mondays
Shareshill Bar - There will be no bar available at Shareshill, please bring own drinks.
Opening Times - Churchill Vic will be open from 7.30pm for an 8.00pm start.
R.P.S. Opening Times - Away teams are not to turn up until 7.30pm, home team only gets access at 7.15pm and they need to setup.
Rules clarification from AGM April 2019
– Jack off mat, the end is re-played from the same position on the mat as the end started, the end does not count towards total ends played.
- Reminder that players can play left and right handed during a game.
- Jack off mat more than twice for a pair is 4 shot penalty.
- Players must ask referee if they wish to go on the mat.

Please can all league players only walk on bowls mats wearing clean flat shoes.

League tables are normally updated the following week after games are played, in the event that a result is received late this will delay the publishing of the league tables until all results have been received.
League results cards can be posted. Alternatively score cards can be scanned or typed into an email (including individual pairs scores) and sent to [email protected].

Round Robin Information
The round Robin has replaced the old knock out league. In the round robin there are four leagues, with four teams in each. All the teams in each round robin league are picked at random. Each team plays home and away, with the first and second place team in each round robin group progressing to the knock out quarter finals. The quarter final fixtures are drawn at random before any round robin game has been played, and are at neutral venues. The winner of each quarter final games goes through the knock out semi-finals (also drawn randomly). The winner of the semi-finals goes into the round robin final. During the knock out stages if the game is drawn then at the end of the last game, an extra end is play to determine the winning team. In the 2015-16 pre-season meeting a vote took place, in which it was decided that each round robin game is played for seven ends (not eight ends).
In the group stage the away team is allowed a 10 minute practice before the game, no roll up takes place at neutral venues. Food is provided at the discretion of the home team during the group stages, captains should agree between each other on whether they want to provide food before the game. Neutral Venue Rules
The hosts of the venue will put out the mat and accessories. The two teams will both be responsible for putting mat and equipment away after the match. Winning team captains to ring or text result.
